Treatment Modalities
My Goal is to provide the best, most effective therapeutic massage and bodywork for my clients.
I do out calls only. I will come to you so that you don't have to deal with the hassles of transportation.
Client Centered Therapy is a term I have developed to describe how I approach my work. I begin each session by doing a thorough health history and assessment of your current physical concerns. I will ask if you've had massage therapy or bodywork before. If so, what type, was it helpful, what did you like about it or dislike? I will also ask what other treatment have you tried such as Chiropractic, Physical Therapy or Acupuncture. The key here is that I listen to what you tell me about your needs and preferences! I then begin to outline a treatment plan for your session based on your input and goals. The therapeutic process is most effective when the client and the therapist communicate well. I don't have a one size fits all mentality that you will find with many other therapists and medical practitioners.
You know your body and understand what will work better then anyone else. As your therapist, I may use any one of several treatment modalities to provide the most effective massage for you.
Swedish/Relaxation:
The type of massage people often visualize when they think of massage. It employs the use of oil or lotion, long stokes directly to the skin.
Therapeutic Medical:
This type of treatment focuses on specific problems and conditions, such as pain, problems with circulation or rehabilitation after surgery or injury.
Sports Massage:
Used for athletes to optimize performance and to decrease recuperation time between workouts.
Energy Work:
I use a blend of techniques for energy balancing, and stress relief.
Reflexology:
A systematic use of massage on the feet and hands to activate nerve pathways effecting the entire body.
